One machine, many ways of using it
If your need is versatility, the DSR-45P is your solution. Use it as the editing player in an A/B roll or a cut editing system. Or, use it with your conventional analogue system.

DV format recording and playback

RS-422A & RS-232C interface
The Sony DSR-45P is equipped with RS-422A interface, which allows it to perform as a source feeder in professional A/B roll editing systems. Also RS-232C interface allows basic VTR functions to be controlled from a PC.
Timecode input/output
The DSR-45P is equipped with time code input/output capability, enabling time code synchronization with external equipment, which is ideal for dubbing purposes.
Timecode write through i.LINK
The DSR-45P can copy time code from a non-tape source through i.LINK. This is useful when video is edited on a PC or other NLE system has new timecode.
Colour bar generator and Tape counter
The DSR-45P has a colour bar generator that can be activated from the set-up menu. In addition, the system comes with a digital tape counter on the front panel, which is convenient for performing relative time code data editing, and for monitoring the operation of the unit.
